Historical Museum Of Crete - Review
Crete history has certainly been action backed. From the Minoan Era to the Byzantine Era to the Venetian Era to the Modern Era, every period of history has had a major influence upon the region. All this action can be seen all at once in the Historical Museum of Crete.
The collections are undoubtedly delightful. Ceramics, Sculptures, Numismatics and several such opjects can be seen in this lovely museum. Most of them have been collected from the island of Crete while others are traded goods and the like. It is absolutely wonderful to see all these amazing works of art and history in one place.

Historical Museum Of Crete, Crete Reviews
Good place to spend day indoor. Takes at least 2h to go through all the exhibition. With kids you can easily double this. There are some small living animals (reptiles, amphibians) and plenty of stuffed birds and mammals. Quite a few spots for kids activities with educational value. Adults can learn some geology and earth history as well.
I loved it! It's a great place to visit with your family or friends, with your kids or husband, with your boyfriend or girlfriend!! They have many things to do inside, your memory on your phone will be full of pictures and videos. They even have dinosaurs in real size and an earthquake's simulation! I definitely recommend this place for everyone.
Best place in the city to go with children. Also very good exhibitions for parents. Worth staying for few hours, or come back few times to read some more. Unfortunatelly the cafe was closed so for longer stay be prepared with snacks, water and jumpers as the air conditioning works a bit to well...
Lovely place to visit for a few hours but I wouldn't think you would want to spend all day there, spread over 5 floors. Start at top +2 interesting exhibition with interactive screens. The permanent exhibitions are all in the main floors and mostly consists of taxidermy, other permanent exhibit includes on -2 the earthquake simulator which runs hourly well worth a look, and the live animals are nice to look at (this is not a zoo) they only have maby 20 animals mostly snakes and reptiles. Then finally there is the children's adventure centre which is lovely for the kids to have some time to have fun after looking around all the history
One of the best organized museums in Crete. With an excellent collection of local and Mediterranean species. It's also an open mind nded museum, which host a lot of inavative events in Heraklion.
