St George Of Selinari Monastery - Review
Perhaps one of the lesser known sights in Greece, the George Selinary Monastery is one of the most tranquil and lovely spots you will find on the island. The Monastery of the medieval era has all the makings of a lovely spiritual destination for travelers.
The architecture is rustic and charming and the ancient feeling of the place is preserved by the monks who reside here. The narrow stone pathways, the lovely stone buildings and their arches and everything is absolutely worth the visit. Although it is on the highway and a bit far from civilization, making a trip to the quaint little monastery comes highly recommended.

St George Of Selinari Monastery, Crete Reviews
Nice place to have some rest
Beautiful church. Nice place to stop to light a candle and feel the reverence.
The best stop ever
A unique monastery with a patron saint fabled for his miracles. It's right on the main road from lasithi to Herakleion so it's definitely worth a quick stop and al it's only a short stroll to the small church. Top tip: if when you go by, you see a lot of cars parked, there is a local celebration. If you have the time, stop and have a peak, you will probably get a glimpse of the local traditional celebrations.
Worth seeing, excellent suvlaki in taverna nearby.
