Iglesia de San Pedro Apostol is one of the oldest churches in Gijon. It was completely burnt down by republicans in the year 1936, and was reconstructed between 1945 and 1955. It has a predominantly gothic style of architecture, and some elements of Romanesque and Pre-Romanesque Asturian. The Church is opulent and the interior is done tastefully. Services are held on a regular basis here and on special occasions like Christmas. The view of the ocean is stunning from the church and creates an atmosphere of tranquility.
