Zoo UFMT is a safe haven for wild animals rescued from Pantanal and Amazon region. Nestled in the Federal University of Mato Grosso campus, the zoo is home to over five hundred animals from around eighty species or avifauna, reptile and mammals. Crocodiles to Iguanas and Lizards, Wild dogs to Jaguars, Macaws to Aladabra Giant Tortoises, Deer to Civets and Martens, Ostriches to Storks –there are lots to see at Zoo UFMT. The animal enclosures are spacious enough to let them grow and roam about freely. With a plethora of birds and snakes in enclosures, the zoo will be a perfect place to learn about the fauna of the state.
