Also called as Novo Museu or New Museum, this museum was inaugurated in 2002 and was later attributed to honour its famous architect Oscar Niemeyer who accomplished this project at 95 years of age. The structure is also referred as Museum do Olho or Museum of Eye due to its distinct design.
The museum primarily focuses on visual arts, architecture and design. Spread over two buildings, the museum spans over an area of 35,000 square meters, 19,000 of which is dedicated to exhibition space. The museum houses Niemeyer’s signature elements like bold geometrical shapes, carved volumes in different sculptures, large areas of white painted concrete and variety of murals and paintings.

The building itself makes it worth going. The exhibitions at the time I was there were really great - paintings, sculpture, light installations. Family, friends or by yourself it's a nice thing to do.
Beautiful Museum in Curitiba with a great park outside for fun with your pets. Its a must see in Curitiba! Also, the region around the museum has a lot of options for hapy hour fun and dinning.
I'd rather classic art and Oscar Niemeyer Museum always have modern art traveling exhibitions, so is not my favorite. However it has a great atmosphere! Good coffee, forest free area, street performers and is surrounded by good and cheap pubs.
A beautiful construction, touristic place worthy of a visit, with nice contemporary art expositions, and a park just beside it, you can easily spend a few hours there! The entrance is a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it
The eye museum, as curitiban people call it is awesome from the exterior but inside there isn't a lot to see. But if you like contemporary art is worth a visit.
