Hollingsworth Horses is basically a kind of service offered in the Blackhills badlands. They give you opportunities for unguided riding across the national forest or even ride on the Mickelson Trail. If you are not very experienced in horse riding, you can also choose to opt for guided rides on the 122 acre ranch that belongs to Hollingsworth horses and the badlands. You will take some initial familiarization riding time in the present round pen which is a part of their property. Hollingsworth Horses Reviews & Ratings

  • The best vacation ride I have done yet, especially for an experienced rider. As an experienced rider who owns my own horses, it can be pretty boring and demeaning to do that "nose to tail" trail ride. They weren't lying, it's a true riding experience where you are in control of the horse. But they won't put you in danger either, they have horses that will take care of new riders too. Beautiful property to ride on. Kristin was an amazing wrangler and I had such good conversation with her. The horses are also SO well taken care of. You can tell Kristin loves her horses. They were all healthy, happy, clean, in good shape, had clean and good fitting tack, and loved Kristin. I would recommend this place to anyone. 100000/10! Thank you Hollingsworth Horses for an experience I'll never forget!

  • Had a wonderful afternoon at Hollingsworth! Kristin was very adept at matching humans and horses and led us on a beautiful trip around their acreage! Highly recommended for beginners like me!

  • Absolutely loved this! Kristin and Courtney were so sweet and informative and fun. It was my first time on horseback and they made sure I was completely comfortable before we went out. The land is beautiful. The horses are amazing. Stop by if you’re in town!! You’ll love it! Best first experience a person could ask for.

  • Very well taken care of horses and absolutely gorgeous, unique scenery! Not your typical nose-to-tail experience, and their method to determine your level and comfort with horses is fantastic. My husband and I went here for a little anniversary treat and he is not really a horse person- he rides for me. But he truly had fun today and it was a great opportunity for him to work on his skills! Thank you for being a diamond in the rough!

  • The scheduler of the rides (Christie) did a terrible job. I made all the arrangements through email. Gave her all the information that she asked for two weeks in advanced. Kinds of horses that we have ridden, weights, ages and names of each rider. Four days before our ride I get a call from her claiming that she never got a time that we wanted to ride. She started trying to persuade me to choose another time. I explained that a morning ride worked best for our schedule. She said that she would make work. 15 minutes before our ride she calls me with a story about how the horses were not doing well and that our ride was cancelled. Our ride was at 10am, the place opens at 8am. The truth is she screwed up and we didn't get to ride.
