This hill station west of Da Nang is the local favourite weekend retreat. It was founded in 1919 by the French. Since accommodation is not upscale, or even well organised, the best way to visit is on a day trip. And though you can drive up the mountain, it's MUCH better to take the funicular which rises 400 metres. You can board the cable car at the address given in the tips and warnings. You'll be clicking pics of the landscape every second.

The attraction is nothing like Vietnam itself. At the top, you'll find a replica French Provincial Town, a funicular railway that rises further up the mountain, a luge track that'll take you downhill again. Close to the 27 metre tall Shakyamuni statue is the Debay wine cellar. The 7-hectare Le Jardind'Amour is a lovely flower garden; check out the terraced spring area. Then there's Fantasy Park, based on the novels of Jules Verne. There's the Alpine Coaster, the only double spiral roller coaster track in the country.

Landmarks to check out:

LinhUng Pagoda, Linh Chua LinhTu Temple, LinhPhongTu Tower, the Campanile, the Tombstone Temple, the Ba Shrine, and the TruVuTraQuan.

Ba Na Hills, Da Nang Reviews - Write a Review

  • Europe scene, fresh cool air and even with fog. A lot of places to take photo and walk. Very nice German beer restaurant. Wax statue museum is the one you must visit. Not so good indoor gaming machines. Should bring your own food for picnic.

  • Stunning town with luxury decor and europe like atmostphere. Great for kids, whole family getaway. Unforgetable views and cable ride. Highly recommended for anyone havent been to Europe

  • This is one of the indispensable destination that you can not ignore when go to Danang. With a lot of games suitable for all ages. You can spend whole day with your family there. I'm sure that your children will be interested in the street performance. In addition, for people who likes the French structure, they can walk along the street between two rows of ancient houses built according to the French structure. The climate in there is different from its in the city. Cooler and comfortable ... No more hot sunshine... So enjoy your day in your own way with your friends and family.

  • From the outside looks, it doesn't look that spectacular but as you take the cart up the hill you can imagine the time and effort it took to build what they did. Come here early as this place can easily chew up the whole day (they open around 9 and close at 6). This place is more of a sightseeing and relaxing place not an amusement park. There are some rides but very few.

  • Just an out of this world experience. It's a MUST see if you are in the area. Whilst some is still under construction, what they have achieved is nothing short of amazing
