My Khe Beach - Review

This pretty twenty milestrech of sand is said to be the country's most luxurious beach. Easy to see why - the high-end resorts, the upscale restaurants and the spas along the beach seem to be innumerable. The beach itself is great for both families and the sportsy. The slope of the beach into the water is very gentle so it's entirely safe for kids to head in. Yet, there's some great surf too, in wintertime (be careful of the rips). Volleyball and beach football is a common sight after kids have been let out of school.

Attractions you can find along the beach's length include the ancient Hoi An Port, the PhingNga Caves, and the imperial city of Hue.

My Khe Beach, Da Nang Reviews

  • My hotel was a few minutes walk away, so I came to My Khe a couple times during my stay in Danang. I have been to many beaches in Vietnam, and this was one of the cleaner ones. It wasn't crowded at all on sunny mornings (although I came around 10-11 AM, and local Vietnamese usually only come out at sunrise and sunset). It was peaceful, the water is warm, and there are plenty of chairs available for rent.

  • It is a busy beach in the afternoons but is kept clean. Great beach for the whole family. Lots of locals but you will see foreigners as well. There are lifeguards that are out in the beach. You can rent a ski jet, paraglide, and there are plenty of restaurants next to the beach to enjoy a cocktail. But best of all, it is open to the public!

  • Can spend days at a strech here on soft white sand and shallow waves of blue seas to a view of mountains on the left and towering buildings on right. Find a busy or quite spot based on your taste along miles of shores. Along the 20km beach, one can find many hotels at all budgets to stay. Most eateries include fish (catch is kept live for your selection before cooking your order). There are lounge chairs under umbrellas, toilets and changing cubicles offered at some beaches by food vendors. Grab your towel, sun screen and rent a bike to explore the entire strech at your own pace and convenience.

  • Go to the beaches near Hoi An like An Bang or Cua dai (which is our preference cause its cheaper and more comfortable to spend the day at. also If you buy a drink you get the chair for free) You have to pay for chairs on My Khe Beach even if you drink or eat there.

  • Only a couple of entry points for public, most of the beachfront is monopolized by resorts. At least there are some areas patrolled by life savers. Several places you can hire cabanas/deck chairs to lounge in and purchase expensive drinks. Not the cleanest of beaches due to people dropping rubbish especially plastic water bottles, despite rubbish bins. Good views
