This is also called the ‘singing mountain’, because of the fact that people say about a beautiful sound which is made by the breeze here. It is an unique experience altogether.
The peak of the mountain is a workplace of the Indian Air Force. As soon as you take a right from the first step on the peak and you turn right, you get to see the main fraction of the peak. Here, you will find the Pholani Devi Temple. The speciality of this temple which makes it unique is that there is nothing except a trident inside but is still considered as extremely sacred by the local people. Dainkund Peak, Dalhousie Reviews
Nice place. 1500 meter track to reach at Temple from parking. You can see beautiful snow clad mountains all around. Early in the season there is snow on tracking route. At places you have to be careful as there is narrow path to walk. Track is not tough. Can be done easily.
If you want to enjoy the nature, come to this place. I went to this place for a day long trekking and started from Dainkund to Jot a 7 kms trek. But I found some local youngsters and take them along with me and travel more inside places and less traveled places. The normal trekking route Dainkund to Jot (with some small add on is normal and kids and ladies can easily complete. My suggestion is Travel silently and enjoy the nature and do not disturb them, whole nature is disturbed by sounds, so do not play musics and talking. The less you make noise the maximum you can enjoy. Respect the mountain, wear good sports shoes and try to wear long pants. Take your turns watchful and avoid face to face with bears and monkeys. Watch out bushes and rocks and avoid snakes.
I love this place. This is my first journey where I enjoyed tracking and saw full ice on road. But be careful here is not good road to walk.if you want to go there then you should go early morning. It's over all 25 km up and down tracking and there is no lights on road. If you are heavyweight then please avoid. It is my humble request to all visitors please avoid shortcut here it is very risk.
A short trek to the top of Dainkund hills. It is a serene place and quite and calm! You'll enjoy to the fullest on this trek. No extra technical knowledge required to do this!
Wonderful place to visit during January - March when show has partially melted to make way for the 1km trek to temple from parking. One gets to view beautiful Himalaya range at a distant.. Snow boots are available for rent over there. Worth the visit.
