Once upon a time, a globally renowned seminary, the Dominican Monastery used to be the headquarters for theological studies. Located inside the premises of Moti Daman Fort, scholars from all over the world used to visit this monastery to get enlightened with knowledge. But now, it is just a shadow of its former glory. The monastery's sudden downfall is a mystery till date. But that doesn't keep visitors from flocking this place. The monastery showcases some fabulous Portugese craftsmanship. The main altar designed with beautiful floral carvings on stone, is quite a sight. The place becomes a hotspot on the third sunday of December, when a public mass is held commemorate St. Dominic.

  • Many of the people might not like that but Dominican monastry is really good. There is nothing as such to see over there but there are many canons lined up since the times of the Portuguese. It is more like a table top and one can have the view of the jetty from the monastry. The photos clicked here surely has the rustic look to it.. But the government can make more efforts to develop the area around the site.

  • These are ruins but great destination for photographers.

  • A monastery in between the fort, absolutely a beautiful place to visit in the fort. And very well maintained even in the summers. A very good place for photography as well. The monastery is very old. A huge building to capture in camera. You will surely need Panorama mode to fit in the whole building. Apart from building the garden is also beautiful.

  • Very beautiful place. The place is inside the fort so its difficult to find.

  • A beautiful monument nicely preserved One can feel its Grandness. Quit and calm place. Must visit if you appreciate Art and architecture.
