Batasia Loop is a semicircular, gigantic railway loop made mainly for the tourists. It is situated about 5 kilometers away from Darjeeling below the Ghoom Station. The loop contains the memorials of the Gorkha soldiers who laid down their lives during the Independence Struggle in 1947. It was first started in 1919. It is a marvel of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. The toy train crossing the Batasia Hill across the Batasia loop is a beautiful sighte to watch. It makes a 360 degree turn off the straight course. The Darjeeling Rangeet Valley Passenger Ropeway is a famous tourist attraction in Darjeeling. Consisting of strong cable cars, it lies between the North Point in Darjeeling and Singla, the Ramman River bank.
