  • A must visit place in Darjeeling. The artifacts and the detailed explanation of the gear and people who contributed to the place was just amazing. I was amazed with the way they preserved the old mountaineering gear used by the climbers is just awesome. Also try rock climbing which is provided by the facility and it's at a very reasonable price of ₹30. They also use good safety gear and the guide also explains you the safe way to try it.

  • a institution for adventures peoples. those who have the hobby to travel to the peak. explore the beauty and serenity of the mountains, those who want to step in to the summit of the globe this place is for you. its training institution for maintainers. very nice place with different facilities.

  • A place giving you detailed information on Mountain climbing. This place gives you an Outlook as to how did the ancient people summit the Everest and other Himalayan ranges. This museum has old equipment which were used for mountain climbing. It also provides you with activities inside the institute

  • I completed the Basic Mountaineering Course from HMI in May 2017. It was all-women batch. The new hostel is neat and tidy. You can call it luxury after coming back from the 15 days Trek. It has all the basic amenities including hot running water. Instructors were best of the best. Food was delicious and more than enough to keep you going for rest of the day. Equipment provided is latest. Make the best use of it. This is one of the best experience I have ever had.

  • Very nice & holy place ! Very important place to visit at Darjeeling with family ! All the utensils & garments -shoes etc kept at the Museum ! Children may be inspired seeing those materials ! HMI also use to give different training programs on Mountaineering ! One may tests his or her skill here by paying a very small amount of money ( RS 30 -/- as on 15April 2018 ) !
