Mahakal Mandir - Review

Although a part of the deal that comes with Observatory Hill, Mahakal Temple stands out even as a singular attraction. It is located on the hilltop and is a lovely change from the bustling chowrasta. In between Chowrasta (the mall), the hill rises and promises you some amazing sights of the surrounding ranges. The best part about this temple is that it caters to all the faiths that are present in Darjeeling. The architecture of this temple is really humble and simplistic in nature, but even so it is a beautiful sight to watch and a great place to witness the presence of God. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Darjeeling itinerary 1 day.

  • Very peaceful place. You should visit that place for feeling peaceful. I love to remember Here is peace on every side. If you want to live peacefully then come here once and see how the life of peace is. I am very happy that I had the opportunity to spend time at such a place. This is a very good place. I'm very exciting. It is one of the best places in the world.

  • Visited this place right in the twilight time. I was a bit scares about visiting this place in the dark but overall the place gives a good vibe.the staircase down the cave might give a spooky feeling but the view of Darjeeling from cave front is a charming thing. Since this is a religious place so keeping your voice low while roaming is must. All those bells & temples of Goddess take you to a new world. It's a uphill journey so have some breathing exercise.

  • Very good temple, where you can get real silence and peace. Visit with family and kids, but beware of monkey. This place is very spiritual, it is temple of Lord Shiva. It is quite clean and graceful environment. I recommended to must visit there if you visit Darjeeling.

  • A Hindu temple at height... Its fun to go up and see the view... And temple itself is beautiful.. Peaceful location

  • A sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Shivaji. Highly revered by the locals of Darjeeling. Growing up in this place & visiting this temple for the umpteenth time I never get tired. Now married far away from Darjeeling to Kathmandu I make it a point to visit whenever I come. I have donated more than 2 lakhs in the construction of the the 108 prayer wheels & pray for the well being of Darjeeling.
