Animal has enough room for roaming in cage. Very neat and clean area. Separate place for mammals, amphibians, reptiles and birds. A museum of Natural history enhance the attention of this place. Himalayan mountain institute is another educative spot located inside this zoo. It has also a museum composed of all history related to Himalayas and its climbers and good showcase of their used equipments.
Loved the zoo. Animals are getting proper care. Moreover they are not bounded in small cages and have plenty of space to roam around in fences. Indoor rock climbing is great. Museum is also very nice. I love the specimens placed there.
Padmaja Naidu wildlife park is a good wild life park. Has amazing animals which is not easily found in other zoos. Main attractions are small red pandas, black tiger and all wild cat families which are available in Hilly mountains and cold weather. The park also accommodates a Mountain climbing institute where mountain climbing is taught. Has a museum for a Sherpa who climbed Mnt Everest. Kudos to government and zoo authorities for keeping the zoo clean along with the rest rooms. Keep it up
The zoo is great with a fantastic collection of rare Himalayan species of deers, mountain goats, snow leopards and more. Even more amazing is the mountaineering institute with some incredible history of mountaineering in the Himalayas, history of the Everest climb and legendary climbers from early 1920 onwards who tried to climb Everest. The memorabilia collection includes a telescope donated by a certain Adolf Hitler to the institute in Nepal. It is a pity that photography is not allowed of these items of such historical significance. It would help in greater awareness of this collection amongst the general public.
This is the No.1 place for kids, adults as well as for any age people. You will enjoy at peaks here. The way they have crafted each place is quite amazing. Hats off to their efforts. Bengal natural history museum, especially zoo are the biggest entertainers. Almost all the important animals ranging from tigers to birds, reptiles, insects, etc.can be found here extensively. Mountaineering institute is also a very nice and must watch place. Eating refreshments are also found here. Collection is entirely amazing and eyes worthy. I saw international travellers here. It is located mainly on the city edge. Please see all the pics.
