  • It's an amazing place... A small zoo with a few amazing animals... But the best part was the museum... A complete history of the mountains climbed or summits is portrayed in the museum. It shows all the equipment used by Tenzing and a few other members. It also showcases some historical significances and some amazing facts of mountaineering. A must visit if you're in Darjeeling!!

  • Beautiful little zoo with a variety of animals and where an attempt has been made to recreate each animal's individual habitat. The Himalayan black bear is a show off who keeps performing for people,☺️. We caught a glimpse of the shy red panda as well. There are a lot of beautiful birds, and small cats. The Royal Bengal Tiger is a little lazy and spent his entire day sleeping :-D. The only flip side being that there is not enough attempt to keep people quiet and people keep screaming and talking loudly. Nevertheless, It is a treat and a must do for all visiting Darjeeling.

  • One of the best maintained and rare species zoo in India with the best Mountaineering school in the world. U can find red panda here. The history of the Mt Everest achievement can be found here. A must go. Don't skip it thinking it as other zoo's in India. Do visit

  • The Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park is a splendid enclosure in Darjeeling. housing a wide variety of animals. Also known as Darjeeling Zoo, this attraction was set up in the year 1958 and was named after the former governor of West Bengal, Padmaja Naidu, who was also the daughter of Sarojini Naidu. With an average elevation of a whopping 7000 feet, it is the largest high altitude zoo in India.

  • Good place to visit during Darjeeling trip. The zoo is worth visiting to see Himalayan animals like snow leopard, Red Panda, mountain goat, yak etc. But this zoo is not suitable for the wheel chair as there are many stairs. The zoo is very clean. Entry Fees for the zoo is Rs. 60/- per head.
