Landesmuseum is the reflection of a traditional natural museum in the city of Darmstadt. The glorious piece of architecture houses a wide collection of unique things from a broad sweep of European countries on display. In the museum you can glance at Dutch paintings of the 17th century, stained glass, engravings of natural history, German altars, mammal fossils, significant art and more.
The museum is also home to a pleasant cafe in its basement that serves lovely drinks and snacks. The 17th to 20th century galleries are a major highlight in the museum and should not be missed.

Although I lived for a few years in Darmstadt, but it was my first time back after more than 20 years. It was a great experience with the presence of Egyptian archaeology. The place was recently renovated and it looks marvellous. A great organisation and well signposted. It's very close to Stadtmitte and TU Darmstadt. Very much recommend to visit.
This place is HUGE with a ton of variety. Can feel a bit chaotic at times with all the stuff crammed into it. Also there is a significant lack of English translations!
Very nice Museum. Didn't have enough time to look at it all
Incredibly interesting. Beautiful building. Coffee shop on site for a half day break. Do make a day of it, so worth it.
Lots, lots of exhibits, with various topics and historical values. It would be even better, when you hear the explanations of the museum guide. You can spend the whole day here, as there are so many things to find out!
