  • Great spot and food excellent, though service fair. Paid very good money for a steak that came late and was very obviously overcooked from the rare ordered. It needed to be replaced but took a very long time to the point the rest of the party had finished and were waiting to leave. Ended up taking the steak as take-away as we had to leave, expected to get some relief in the way of the steak charge as we left, but no, just a very mild apology and full charge for the steak. (we had spent well over & $400 as well) I'm not one to argue. That's their choice. The food was good, but won't be back again on the service.

  • We held our post Wedding lunch (reception) at Mercato. We met with owners Carroll and Dan prior to confirming venue. We had both experienced fine dining at the Mercato so wanted to find out whether it would be a suitable place for our guest party of 20. Carroll and Dan were extremely helpful throughout the whole planning. They provided advice and options but did not overwhelm us. They guided us on food and drink. They allowed friends to help with table decorations. All this helped make the wedding 'ours'. The recent addition of a regionally inspired tapas menus was perfect for us - a mix of quality dining and Latin romantic casualness. The service and 'seen but not heard' approach allowed us to enjoy the event with the focus on us and our guests. We could also play our own tunes. Thank you Mercato for a memorable day.

  • Went here just as they were closing and they still let us in, which was amazing of them. Had the most delicious meal! Thank you for the wonderful service, atmosphere and food!

  • After seeing there was still space for 6pm booking, me and my partner decided to rock up at the restaurant rather than giving our credit card details away on some website. Sure enough, upon arrival one of the chef told someone on the phone about this slot's availability, then hangs up. We politely asked for a table, and after a look of hesitation and a quick disappearance at the back, tells us they are fully booked and cannot serve us. Now my partner is going through brain cancer and radiation left him partially bald, so he doesn't leave his beanie, and that is the only possible explanation we could come up to as to why we were turned down. We were otherwise not more underdressed than the table already sat, and we were patient and polite. Ashamed, he just quickly said it's fine let's go, but I am left with a bitter taste, yet satisfied we didn't end up giving this place our money. But I must say it was rather tempting to just book online and walk through the door again. Thank you for making us feel bad, for no reason at all.

  • Great service but food was quite overage. We arrived at 6pm first to be there for dinner. Waitress were welcoming and service was good. For entree I had carpaccio. It was tender but very tasteless. No flavour or what so ever. For main I had, lamb Wellington. Lamb shoulder in pastry. Around $45 a portion you would expect the meat to be juicy and fall apart. Wasn't the case. Meat was relatively cold and dry. My wife had roo. Two pieces of roo and both were tough as. Even trying to cut through the meat was hard enough let alone chewing. I have been to this restaurant many years ago and it was so much better. Personally I want go back after this experience.
