This is a full service casino. You can both game and dine here. The theme is Wild West, like most of Deadwood. Located on the main street, this place is right in the heart of the city. After a tiring day of touring, you won’t have to go far for some relaxed time and a couple of beers. The music is upbeat and enlivens the atmosphere. The staff members are friendly. Thorough gamblers will have a good time because the competition here is known to be tougher than the other places. And once you taste the food and beverages, you’d want them to keep coming!

Highlights include:

  • Live Entertainment
  • The Buffalo Bar (running since 1877)
  • The Steakhouse
  • A good view of the parade and festivals going on, on the main street.
  • Slot Machines
  • Video Poker

  • The Buffalo Steakhouse is part of the complex and boasts itself as the oldest saloon in Deadwood, but it's hard to imagine or even visualize with the mind's eye as it is quite built up. All I will ever remember about this place is my first experience with Rocky Mountain Oysters. Yup. Not my thing. But great staff!

  • Prime rib was good. My wife had the chicken fried steak. It was delicious! The prime rib had a nice garlicky crust on it, and was prepared just right. One of the better prime ribs I have had in a while. Now the chicken fried steak was amazing. It wasn't a frozen prebreaded steak. It was hand breaded fresh! The mashed potatoes were real potatoes with lumps, not instant! We didn't even know the restaurant was back there. Saw the sign for prime rib in the window and went exploring. Totally worth it! It's hard to find good prime rib, especially on a Wednesday, and fresh made chicken fried. We'll definitely go back next time we are in Deadwood!!!

  • Went in for a late afternoon lunch. Very few patrons at that time, yet wait staff was curt, disinterested, slow and unfriendly. Looked like a bunch of twenty-somethings told by their mamas to get a job. Food was terrible. I had the buffalo burger--overdone to the point of tasteless, on a brioche bun that was dry and stale. Oh, yum. Paid extra for onion rings that were soft and also tasteless. My wife had the chicken sandwich. The chicken was also overdone and leathery. She didn't finish it. Flies were numerous and annoying. Our water was the highlight of the meal. The hostess collected our bill and, noticing we didn't leave a tip on the table, graciously offered to give me a couple of fives in change, which I declined. I always tip in the 20% range, give the staff, the cook, the place the benefit of the doubt, and can't remember the last time I left no tip at all, but this meal, well, it just sucked. I really can't say one good thing about this dining "experience".

  • One of my top 5 places of Deadwood. Rustic. Real. Great food. Fast service. Center of the main street.

  • Decent place for drinks and grub. Nothing to brag about but not bad either.
