Spread over 800 square kilometres, it is a UNESCO world heritage site and is largest protected area in Hungary. The alkaline steppe formation in the area seconds the area to be around ten thousand years old.

Nice part of the Hungary folklore. The children were over the moon about horse riding especially my daughter. Memorable evening out with the family, definitely recommended.

Hortobágy is not just a flat where the weathrr is always hot. It is a paradise. It is full of treasures like unique Hungarian animal species, original culture and traditions. It is a must to visit for both foreign tourists and sunset addicts.
Great for families or by one's self. Great gift shop. Recommend for all who visit the area just North is Debrecen.
