Hortobagy National Park, Debrecen Reviews - Write a Review

  • One of the nicest place in Hungary. It is very well maintained and you can observe rare animals, for example, rare birds and fishes at Lake Tisza.

  • Birds birds birds. Walk or take a train to the end of the road - watchtowers and small cottages by the lake. Former fishgrowing place with lots of pools and channels.

  • Great place to visit to get to know this unique area. A bit crowded in the restaurants at peak time, only a few restaurants

  • I have not really appreciated the great plain before. You can see here how colourful its widelife is.

  • Don't expect stunning nature in the Hortobagy National Park. Interesting, yes, but basically, this is flat grassland, steps and marshland. It has a lot of very special flora and it is great for bird watching. A large part is closed to the general public. Those who are not very knowledgeable in that respect, do well to join a tour or find a guide to enjoy the region.
