The Great Reformed Church

Originally built in 1600, the church was rebuilt in 1727. With an unusual onion-shaped dome, the structure was distinct in Debrecen’s skyline. It was although destroyed in the wind-storm. It was repaired and was again destroyed with a bigger wind-storm later. The architects then refurbished the church tower into a bastion like form which gives the church its name of truncated church. -
Dating back to 1912, the plot originally occupied the house of György Komáromi Csipkés- the judge of the city. The house hosted the preparatory negotiations of the historic Treaty of Szatmar in 1711.
