Commonly known as the Birla Temple, the Laxminarayan temple was built by G.D Birla and is one of the most revered temples in Delhi. The temple is dedicated to the Goddess Laxmi and her consort Vishnu who, when together are called Laxminarayan. An interesting story about this shrine is that it was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi on the strict condition that people of all castes and religions would always be allowed entry into the temple. This definitely makes it a temple that is worth a mention and worth a visit.

The temple is built in the traditional style and has 3 stories. The tallest of the three roofs is about 160 meters tall and the temple is spread over 7 acres making it an imposing structure. The whole place is adorned with intricate carvings that tell many tales from Hindu Mythology. Brightly colored in the day and elaborately lit at night, this temple is not just for the devotee but also for the culture seeker.

  • It a very old and famous Hindu temple in Delhi also known as Birla Mandir . A fine example of great architecture, the premises of the temple are very well maintained and always very clean. Chants of different holy phrases pacifies your ears, the temple has a huge open area which has ample of sweet spots to meditate or pray. Recommend to go early morning especially of winters (do cover up yourself) and find yourself a sweet spot to pray/meditate.

  • It's a Hindu devotional place. All time chants of Hare Rama, hare Krishna goes through the air in temple which gives peace of mind and soul. Good place with easy to reach connectivity available. Love this place for some evening calmness after work, traffic and loudness around.

  • First of all let's talk about it's view from outside. When you see it for the first time you will think that is a small city on its own. Inside view is super awesome. Those Jhoomers are amazing. Paintings and carvings on the walls are so nice. Now the statues, I don't have words to admire their beauty. You won't feel like taking your look away from them. They are so satisfying

  • Nice place to visit. It has good system of keeping mobile phones. Photography is not allowed, even with mobile phone cameras. But this is a place that will attract anyone, being religious is not a prerequisite. Go and sit there.

  • Gigantic Temple with numerous people visiting it every day for prayers.. Very spiritual place. Very nice and clean temple and a beautiful one too. Must go for all devotees. The is very divine place more spacious & very beautiful. It’s very neat & the devotees are better disciplined. The team behind temple administrations deserves a large appreciation for maintaining it.
