About Lodi Gardens, Delhi

The Lodi Gardens is a famous recreational park in Delhi, India. It is spread in an area of 90 sections of land measuring to 360,000 square metres. The heritage Garden premises houses the tombs of Mohammed Shah, Sikander Lodi, along with the Sheesh Gumbad and Bara Gumbad. The architectural premises are adorned with the design works of the fifteenth century Sayyid and Lodis, who belonged to the Pashtun line which controlled much of Northern India throughout the era of the sixteenth century. As there had been minimal structural planning from these two periods in India, Lodi Gardens was regarded a critical place for safeguarding. The garden is viewed as a wonderful and characteristic recreational reflection of the Mughals. It is also used as a much favoured venue for the morning strolls of the Delhiites.

  • Excellent place for a evening dinner. It has both open and closed seating options. However, if you are not sitting outside then you are losing the experience. Food quality is between medium to average, nothing that will leave your taste buds craving for more. Be prepared to shell out rs. 1500 - 2000 per person for a good meal with drinks.

  • I love this place. The location, the crowd and the environment is so great. And thanks to the government it is maintained very well. It's a great place to jog, run, play sports or just hang around. Keep it up Lodhi garden.

  • The best park area in Delhi with a rich greenery and peace. It has become my favourite place in Delhi. Plan your trip wisely as you would like to spend a lot of time in the park admiring each and every place. Best time to roam there is evening around the sunset.

  • This is an absolutely beautiful garden. Impeccably maintained, green and clean. There is an open gym, jogging track, a number of historic tombs including that of Lodhi and a small and scenic lake. Must visit! P.S. - There are also enough free public toilets which I found to be fairly clean.
