National Rail Museum, Delhi Reviews

  • A very good show of old rail engines, VIP coaches of some maharajas, nicely painted at all times and kept clean by regular maintenance staff. Gives good story of how railways started in India, mini railway system on track is loving for kids and young ones. Travel on Mini-train for a round of open areas containing engines, bridges, coaches etc. is worth enjoying for the children and oldies. Museum is a special treat for youngsters and kids to know how rail system started and developed in India over the years. However, avoid visiting on Mondays as it remains closed. Tickets are very nominal but buy tickets for Min-train separately if interested in joy ride. Food and snacks are available inside in a nicely set up restaurant at affordable rates.

  • Do you love heritage? Do you want to know more about trains and all the things then why haven't you been here yet? It's a perfect place to be at for kids and adults both. Covers every aspect with loads of ways to enjoy your time out there. Games to keep the kids engaged and helping them learn alongside. Covers every technical aspect as well with very creative and detailed models of everything. Charges minimal fees and have various things to stay in memories for long long time. Worth a go!

  • Nice place. There is a lot of ground to cover, so lot of walking required. Go early to avoid the sun. I think it opens at 10 am. Very informative for kids. Inside restaurant is well decorated, but food options are less. Family package for parents + 2 kids is 200 rs on weekend. Joy train ride is 5 minutes only. Wish it would have been longer.

  • A fantastic place to visit with your family and especially if you have kids at home. This can be a very memorable place for you. Lots of old engines are kept. One can get the feel of heritage coaches and engines for Indian railways. There are nice museums that can make you acquainted to many things related to railways which you must not have seen before
