Constructed between 1927 and 1933, this causeway was finally opened for use in the year 1933. It offers a scenic drive through North Holland and connects Den Oever in North Holland to Zurich in Freisland. Running parallel to the coast, this amazing causeway stretches over a short distance of 32 kilometres but is situated at a height of 7.25 metres making the scenery extremely amazing. The architect behind the construction of this causeway was Cornelis Lely and has very carefully strategized this road, considering the level of technology available back in 1920. If you wish to simply have a lovely drive and travel upto the country side of North Holland, then this causeway is definitely worth travelling through.
