Tamba Park, Denneville Reviews
Lion Park looks amazing now it's had some money spent on it. There's a little bit of something for everyone here now - although it's really aimed at younger children. I miss the model village but the Dino Park is a brilliant addition. And, we spent a couple of quid to feed the Koi Carp, which always show their appreciation for the food. The crazy golf was a bit too small (and sane) for us grown-ups so we had a couple of quick games of skittles and giant Connect 4. And, there are more fun family things coming soon.
The park is fairly well maintained with a really nice outdoor playground (enough features to keep the little ones busy). The cafe serves regular fast food, but also some healthy options like salad bar. The entry fee is cheap, but you'll have to pay extra for some of the activities (minigolf, boats, trampolines) which feels a bit dishonest. Overall the kids had a good time and enjoyed the day out.
They have started closing the outside area earlier than usual. The place is starting to show signs of wear and tear. The play area goes unsupervised most the time and kids are left free to do as they wish. Older kids climb up the slide the wrong way and is quite annoying when you have a 2 year old wanting to enjoy the amenities. Not sure if I will renew membership.
What's there is OK, but it's not going to fill more than 2-3h. Entry price is quite reasonable, that gives you access to indoor and outdoor play areas which are both well equipped, and the dinosaur walk through. The dinosaurs aren't going to win any awards for realistic movement but they're decent entry-level anamatronics. Our main annoyance was that the website implied all activities were covered by the entrance fee, but the trampolines cost £2 for 10 minutes (enforced even when quite) and the electric boats £5 for 10 minutes. On the subject of the boats, the motors have all the power of an electric toothbrush - steering is therefore imprecise. They're OK but young kids aren't going to manage to drive them without help.
It's a nice place to spend some time with kids, but you have to pay extra for the more interesting parts (trampoline, boats, crazy golf). Whereas the "free" stuff isn't too impressive, to be honest. You won't need more then 5 minutes to walk through the path with 10 dinosaurs on display. In general I would say, the whole thing is better suited for kids younger than 10 years. The crazy golf wasn't too impressive either. The courses are worn out, which is no surprise if you could witness how a group of young kids next to us was treating it.
