Biscuit. French. Toast. Need I say more?! The apple compote was an amazing pair with the biscuit French toast. I had the hit sauce cheese grits with the fried chicken breast and I was in heaven! Don't plan to do much after you eat. I was fat and full (in a good way).
What a pleasant experience this was. Denver Biscuit Company is a hip place 2 miles from downtown. I am extremely picky with my fried chicken and I can tell you this place does not disappoint. I had the Franklin sandwich biscuit with sausage gravy (I added an egg) and it was SUPERB. Everytime my husband and I travel, we try the local shrimp and grits and theirs is delicious. I am a fan of creamier grits, but I enjoyed the combination they serve. Also, the portion size is great. You will fill up. We will definitely go back there before heading back home.
The food was decent. I was actually really impressed with the biscuits. They are huge, but still nice and soft!! My problem was that we were seated at the bar. Every other place I've ever gone, the bar area is no wait seating. Then, as we were being seated we were told that the coffee is self serve. A couple got seated next to us, with the lady being stuck up against a pole! I watched a bartender all a guy for his ID for a drink and when he joked about his grey beard, she responded that she had grey hair too, but isn't 21. I get trying to cover your butt, but seriously? You can't bartend if you're not 21. If you can't handle telling a person it's policy, you shouldn't be behind the bar. At the price this place charges for their food and coffee, you better be bringing it to me! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I know, unless they like paying high end prices for minimal service. I'd say overall this place is mediocre at best.
The location we visited was in Colorado Springs but probably the same great place. The biscuits are the size of your face so if you’re worried about getting your moneys worth, don’t. Endless coffee bar, nice tap selection that all go great with breakfast and a really awesome building and atmosphere. We were full til dinner and couldn’t quit raving about the service and food the whole drive home. Thanks for another new experience Colorado!
Yummy for my tummy! :) The Biscuit and Sausage Gravy was delicious! Ann had the French Toast with Apple Slices on the side! She loved it! The coffee was $3 endless cup and I had to go fill up twice! The coffee is from Guatemala and I loved it! :) The staff was very friendly and efficient! We definitely will return!
