Pepsi Center - Review

This is not a soft drink factory tour. The Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Colorado Mammoths (basketball, hockey and lacrosse respectively) call this multi-purpose arena their home. As such, there is a lot of fervent fan energy during home matches. The atmosphere is uproarious and infectious. But with over 200 events a year, the arena delivers a lot more than mere sports, such as concerts and ice events and family shows. Seating space is between 18 and 20 thousand. Check out the 2000 pound sculpture in the stadium.

  • This is an incredibly delayed post, but last season I went to an Aves/Lightening hockey game. As to be expected, it was a great time. What really made the night so memorable, was that they did a surprise homecoming for a Veteran. Being a Vet myself, I can attest to what that moment feels like. Seeing your loved ones after so long. Major credit to the Pepsi Center for setting up a fun, Star Wars theme game as the surprise for the Vets three children. It was an exciting and special moment to get to see. What also added to the fun was my buddy and I, intentionally overdoing our cheering for the Lightning. We aren't fans, but it was really entertaining to stir up the Aves fans. Gotta love hockey!

  • One of the best venues for music in the Denver area. Parking is not a nightmare. The staff are friendly and reasonable. There's a Brooklyn's right next to it, so you can show up early and grab a bite or a beer. Easy access off of I-25. I've also been for a hockey game. What an experience that is! I definitely suggest that you do that at least once in your life...

  • Great sports and concert venue. I've seen the Nuggets here countless times and just recently seen Bruno Mars perform here on tour and going back in October to see Ozzy. Great views from all around the venue along with excellent acoustics which is perfect for concerts. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is because even though the Pepsi Center is a pretty well built modern sporting/concert venue, the prices of all the refreshments, memorabilia, and other merchandise is way to outrageous!!! Unless, you know, you like to spend $24 on just a cheeseburger and medium drink.

  • I went for the Bruno mars concert. The stadium has a metal detector check before you come in. Make sure you take out your phone and open up your bag if you have one. It makes it flow a lot better. Then you come up to the ticket scanners. It gets a little crowed waiting for your ticket to get scanned. The way the beer tents are set up seem really out of flow to me. They are randomly placed and it gets really congested in there. People don't seem to know how to wait in line for bathrooms either. There are two side to get into the restroom and everyone just uses one. A man tried to pick pocket me so watch out for that! The chairs are really comfy but VERY CLOSE together and there is like 6 inches of room in front of you to dance..... so bummer. It was really hard to dance in there. Great view of downtown.

  • Saw concert from top level and the acoustics were fine. Food choices were good (each level has different vendors). They open their doors on time, so line up outside early if you want to hit the dealers before heading to your seat.
