Situated in the Detroit River between Canada and the United States mainland, Belle Isle Park is a 982 acre (1,534 square meter) island park.

It has a maritime museum, a zoo, a conservatory, an aquarium, a beach, a yacht club and a golf course. You will also see a number of pavilions, monuments and statues. Clean and well patrolled it is best during the summer when it offers a great view of Windsor Canada and Detroit. Enjoy the spectacular fountain or walk, go biking or roller-blading. Or even paddling at the paddle-boat rental. You can admire from afar or walk along the little bridge everywhere. Make use of the grills and cabanas available for public use.

Visit the conservatory where entry is free and see the many cacti, ferns, tropical and outdoor plants. The maritime museum covering 16,000 square feet features a large collection of ships no longer in service. Here you can even go up the old freighter pilot house overlooking the Detroit River. Also visit the aquarium and take some awesome pictures.

• A Recreation Passport is required while visiting the park by vehicle. This can be purchased online at the mobile contact station on Belle Isle.
• Although the park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. facilities inside have their own separate timings and entry charges.
• Look out for broken glass and fish hooks in some parts of the park.
• This is a picnic area, hence bring along your own food and drink.

• Individual facilities have separate ticket charges.

• Individual facilities like the maritime museum, the conservatory, the aquarium, etc. have their own timings.

• Bus No 012 and 025 stops at Helen & Jefferson
• Bus No 610 stops at Jefferson & Grand Boulevard
