A perfect little park to take your kids, the John Waples Memorial Playground is situated right by the ocean. It is a lovely little park with slides, small walking trails and great spots for picnics. Dewey Beach by itself is one Delaware’s best protected beaches and this playground is a great getaway for small kids to go and have fun. The best part is that you have ample space for parking as well, so you can simply relax at the beach- drive to the park and have a fun evening with your kids.

John Waples Memorial Playground Reviews & Ratings
Great area for the kids to play. Honestly though be mindful of the gazebo. Anecdotally it's easy for parents to let their guard down while sitting in there and I've heard of various falls/ trips happening in the gazebo as a result. Rest of the park is perfect, and the gazebo isn't a death trap, just make sure to control any play happening in there.
We do a #Ragnar trail relay here every year and it's always a great experience. The campground staff are friendly and helpful and the surroundings are very pretty.
Nice playground, fenced in, only downside is no bathroom
Great place to take the family with clean beaches
Great playground. The sandbox and toys were a wonder surprise
