Fort Diemerdam dates back to the 19th century when it was a military defensive fort consisting of open coastal battery which thereby differs from the other forts in its style of construction. The structure can’t really be referred to as a fortress and Fort Diemerdam is just a popular name. In the recent days, it is used by a private user to store goods and as a horse land. The beautiful fort guardian home on site was also available for rent until recently. On this day, a restaurant and a pavilion have been established and you can eat here and rest after a tour around the fort.

Very friendly and good service. Perfect location to take a small break from biking or walking or for a relaxing lunch or diner on Sunday. The rest of the week they rent the place out for business or weddings and so. Looks like a fine place for it!
Cruising along in the bikes and boom! Abandoned places! My fave!
Perfect location for weddings and parties. Also really nice for a drink and or bite.
Clean place, good service. Not the best fries but good selection of burgers.
This was one of the Forts built by The City of Amsterdam as a perimeter defense for the city. Most of these forts are not accessible as they are no longer open, they are more like a ruin.
