Diu Fort - Review
Back in 1535, this huge Portuguese fort must have been one of the most impressive sights in all of the land. It has a double moat, an array of cannons on the ramparts, and a lighthouse 32 metres high that is basically the highest point in the city. The fort was built to defend the city from the invasions of Mughal Emperor Humayun. Seen around the fort's premises are the remnants of Venetian style Gothic homes. Inside the fort is a famous chapel, the Chapel of Our Lady of Rosary, built in the 17th century. It has gilded wooden panels depicting scenes from the lives of saints. Photography is not allowed inside the chapel.

Diu Fort, Diu Reviews
Diu fort covers a huge area and it's fun to watch the historical place. It takes a lot time to cover the entire area. Also the place is so airy as it is surrounded by sea. You can enjoy the view of the jail floating on water. So if you are into history you will love the place. As I'm not so history lover I am rating 3 stars.
It is a beautifully built structure with a lot of amazing view points and enough scope for photography. You can easily spend an hour or two here. If the weather is good then you can find a nice spot to sit and enjoy the view. Viewing the whole structure involves some physical effort as there a lot of walking involved. There is no entry ticket. Moreover there is free parking outside the fort. For planning your trip better you can refer to the blog at wayfareradi.wordpress[dot]com/2018/06/18/diu/
Diu fort Built in 1535, and additionally completed by1541 by portugese, this massive fort well preserved and sea increase its beauty. Fort hiding its many hidden doors and many historical tales. Massive canon and metal cannon ball one of the most attractive things on ports. Mostly visited in monsoon n winter for explore peacefully and also good place for photography. Light house increases its beauty at night time and even its well decorated with lights.
History lives in you as you step in the fort. We feel the royal, the mortars, the armaments. It's a must to visit while in Diu. Though less parking space for four wheelers near Fort, it's at walkable distance from pay and park near Bazar. If visiting in day time, carry water with you as you will be needing a lot. Very photogenic place. Spend at least 2-3 hours.
Great place for some good clicks! We went on summer afternoon :( though at top of the light house winds were awesome. so choose your time wisely ; my opinion would be @ 3/4PM after that u can go at sunset point also:) Enjoy!
