The International Centre Goa, Dona Paula Reviews
Marvelous place. Excellent retreat sort of atmosphere. Cool and pleasant. Excellent hospitality. Amazing ambience. Everything is way too good. One of the best places to stay in India for any tourist. Food was out of this world. Only thing missing - Laundry service is poor. They misplace clothes.
I was here for a music workshop. Nice rooms to work in. Judging by the flyers there are lots of events on most evenings. Spacious green surroundings... the rooms are quite affordable although I haven't seen them. There's a restaurant on the premises as well... pretty standard Indian fare...
Amazing place where events, conferences and activities can be held. A good restaurant with variety of food. Becoming a member of ICG will surely be a good idea. Swimming pool and game room to let the day go by and rooms also available. Also beautiful decorations surround the place. Adequate parking and friendly staff.
I have been here just one time. My visit here was pleasant, nice environment and good order. I saw an international concert and the arrangement was of high class.
This place would have been great about 20 years ago. But standards have changed. Expectations from guests have also changed. The centre can no longer remain without regular upkeep. Paints are peeling, furniture is unpolished and seem rotting, and flooring have scars from water spilling. The pool is so bad that you cannot see beyond about a feet of water. The pool manager was not able to explain why it was so bad. He did mention that 'it was cleaned on Thursday'. The lounge chair has faded and torn sheets. The doors for the rooms need to go several notches up in terms of quality. Are they functional? Yes. But that is not the expectation for the cost. The quality is so low that I asked if this was maintained by the government. Surprisingly, it is not. Perhaps a good time to relook at the committee who is maintaining this club. They do have tie up with some great clubs in India, but seems like a poor cousin. The clientele seem well heeled, but must be coming here for the good shows and programs. So, there is obviously no dearth of funds. Reinvestment in the club to enhance the quality will go a long way.
