Tory Island is located almost 15 km off Donegal Coast. Much more preferred for atleast 2 days, the island is dipped in history and has many tourist attractions of its own.

Since the 1950’s after the Battle of Tory island, the Island has become a community of many artists who have settled here.

Following long-standing tradition, a "king" is chosen by consensus of the islanders. The current Ri Thorai (Irish for "King of Tory") is painter Patsy Dan Rodgers (Patsai Dan Mac Ruaidhri). The king has no formal powers, though duties include being a spokesperson for the island community and welcoming people to the island.

Highlights Include:

• Dun Bhaloir (Balor's fort)
• An Eochair Mhoris  or the "The big key".
• The Wishing Stone where a wish is granted to anyone foolhardy enough to step onto the rock, or who succeeds in throwing three stones onto it.
• An Cloigtheach (The Bell Tower) built in 6th or 7th century.
• The Tau Cross (a t-shaped cross) is believed to date from the 12th century.
• Moirsheisear (Grave of the Seven) is the tomb of six men and one woman, who drowned when their boat capsized off Scoilt an Mhoirsheisear (the cleft of the seven) on the island's northwest coast.
• The Torpedo seen midway between An Baile Thiar and An Baile Thoir which was washed ashore during World War II and was defused and erected at its present location.

• It is recommended to stay at the island’s Tory Island Harbour View Hotel- Ostan Radharc Na Ceibhe.
