Mother Jones was a revolutionary activist who lived to be 100 and spent her Golden Years fighting for the rights of the labour class particularly the miners. On the day she died, tens of thousands of people travelled to join the funeral procession of Mother Jones. She chose to be buried in Illinois in Union Miners Cemetery, in the small coal-mining town of Mt. Olive, a place which was the centre of a fight for the wage for miners and a place where miners sought to shape their capacity to believe in the future where they can control their economic destiny.
