Brewing in Dortmund dates back to the 1950’s and with the onset of industrialisation, it became one of the most lucrative business in the country. In the 50’s, its is believed that three main industries formed the foothold of the country – beer, coal and steel and with some of the bets beer brewed in Germany, a visit to the Brewery Museum becomes a mix of history, science, tradition and culture!

The brewery preserves copper fermentation tanks with original installations and equipment’s. It almost looks like its is a working brewery on an off day- as relevant to the modern wineries and breweries that we see today but with some extra old-world charm! The vintage décor, original tanks, bottling machines, a model of a car that would be used to transport the beer, a collection of the brand label of the DAB, old beer bottled stacked in crates, old photos, vintage posters and the exhibit that explains beer consumption and brewing since the middle ages, completes the visit. The tour ends with a small beer tasting- perfect for beer lovers!
