The St. Nicholas Church dates back to the early 20th century and was built on the ground of a former church that dated back to the 15th century. Made after a long time since its proposal due to the trying second World War, the church was built in 1925 using glass, concrete and steel which gave it its modern design. This particular church is literally the first concrete church in the city.

Take a walk inside and you see gorgeous glass work that almost covers the entire length from the ceiling to the floor with stained-glass art that embraces light and colour supported with industrial-looking concrete pillars and a concrete roof. The original church tower had a blue cross but was damaged in the war in 1950. However, the tower is restored and is quiet a different sight compared to the old church towers that we are used to seeing. The church organ is a piece of art in itself and adds to the design of the place. Today, the church has become one of the most loved spots around the city and truly incorporates the modern age of the city in a nutshell.
