With an exuberant collection of trees and flowers, the Westfalenpark offers an oasis of lush greenery in Dortmund. The park also has the German Rosarium that has the 3rd largest collection of roses in the world with over 3000 types of the species cared for at the park. The restaurant in the park is located by the lake and is perfect for a romantic dinner in the evening. The walkways are spacious with enough place to find a cosy spot for yourself. The amphitheatre is one of a kind with the seating and the stage separated by an artificial pond. The park also has boating, a playground area for children, a gorgeous Japanese garden that will soothe your soul and trees that cover the stretch no mater where you go. The place also has a bowling alley, a park railway and an adventure park for children.

Westfalenpark truly takes the idea of recreation to another level and if you have a few hours, grab a picnic basket with your favourite selection of snacks to come here and lay down a spread in the shade and enjoy the view all around. The park also hosts a number of festivals and events all year round along with flea markets and live performances. The “Festival of Lights” event held here every summer is filled with entertainment with a stunning array of fireworks that is the highlight of the fest.

The Forantium tower stands at a height of 209 meters and has an observation deck that is usually open for visitors and offers panoramic views of the entire Westfalenpark.
