Bear Spring Campground Reviews & Ratings

  • Very rude staff. Picked a succluded spot and when whe got there they changed it to on us and gave us the worst spot right on top like 3 spots. Showed up at 920 and the ginger staff member working gave us a hard time even though we called around 730 to left them know our eta and they said no worries. Guy came 2 times when we were setting up and said we were to loud the got us kicked out in the morning instead of just saying that we had to leave called the rangers never refunded money for the days paid. Never going back site down the road 100 times better

  • Beautiful camping for those interested in real camping. The bare necessities only. Showers are 3 miles down the road, no cell phone service at camp sites, no electricity; yet a wonderful time!!!

  • Love this place more than ever now. I've been camping here on and off since the 70s. I've been to the local campgrounds (peaceful valley and oxbow), big fields along the river. They can't even compare to bearspring mountain. It's beautiful and quiet.

  • where do I start?? The staff was friendly and helpful considering we got there late. However finding our site was difficult but again I guess it’s understanding since it was late and dark. The sites was small in some areas and bigger in others. I booked here last minute to join another family/friends. Since it was last minute their was availability only by the horse stables. So that had a smell. We was near the restrooms (outhouse) and it smelled bad. Horrible to eat n smell the funk. We saw a few mice running around which had us worried because it was a few too many. There was no quite time at all which wasnt a problem but that weekend ppl just didn’t care of their tone while walking by your tent. The showers was clean but SO far. It was about three miles out. No lie!! My daughter was so scared to use the bathroom in the outhouse for number two so it was a bit wack having to drive out so far. We made the best of it, had some good laughs but definitely won’t go back. P.S. we had no phone service.

  • We had a great time here. There is a swimming area, a boat launch for non motorized boats and a few tent sites near the water
