As the name suggests, the Phil Lynott Statue is dedicated to the famous Irish musician, singer and songwriter, Phil Lynott.  Known for his successful group Thin Lizzy, he became one of the sensations of Ireland. He grew up in Dublin in the 1960s led several bands as a lead vocalist, most notably Skid Row alongside Gary Moore, before learning the bass guitar and forming Thin Lizzy in 1969. He is the leading figure of the world of Ireland and thus got a monument erected to his memory in Dublin.
