Powerscourt Waterfall , Dublin Reviews

  • The waterfall is impressive, and makes for nice photos. Other than that, and the nice open space, my experience was somewhat negative. Firstly, I've never in my life come across so many flies. They were everywhere. An absolute infestation. There is also just one shop with a miscellaneous assortment of goods. A standalone coffee shop would have been far more enjoyable for people looking to relax after exploring. The shop was also cash only, which in this day and age is an inconvenience. Lastly, the toilets were dark and poorly kept. As an Irish man, I would not recommend this trip to tourists based on the negatives outlined above, albeit they are easily rectifiable and should be picked up on! Powerscourt Gardens on the other hand is an amazing place to visit, and is well worth the trip.

  • Not worth it. You pay to see something that one could naturally happen upon when walking through a national park or Forest. Not an impressive waterfall by any means and not deep within a Forest or woodland it's simply over a hill after paying your entrance fee. Not worth the price. Go to Powerscourt Gardens for a more interesting attraction. The gardens are impressive and you get a great walk with an interactive tour via free handheld audio devices that you scan at each stopping point. Great sculptures and a rich history coupled with nature. Much better value

  • Love this place. Wicklow is definitely the best county in Ireland, and I’m not actually from there!! It’s the garden of Ireland for a reason! The waterfall is beautiful and they also have a takeaway and playground on the grounds. All types of groups people visit here. Single people walking their dogs maybe, or maybe for photography, families going for the day. Camper vans, couples. It’s a must visit definitely.

  • It's not a spectacular or huge waterfall, especially with the drought that was in effect throughout Ireland this summer. The waterfall is quite beautiful and the pools down below are easily accessible. We took off our shoes and dipped our feet into the cool waters. It was very refreshing!

  • Spent a nice couple hrs here, but you could easily pack a picnic and spend the day. The Waterfall is IMPRESSIVE. Very clean well kept area. I may be mistaken but I think people may camp there. Kids loved the playground. Plenty of picnic tables, toilet facilities. There is a fast food hut also selling snacks and hot drinks, ice cream etc. The only downside is the entrance fee!
