Also known as the ‘Monument of Light’, the Dublin Spire is a monument made entirely of stainless steel. A finalist of the 2003 British Construction Industry International Award, the spire was designed by Ian Ritchie Architects and is 121.2 meters tall. Providing fantastic photography opportunities, the Dublin Spire’s surface has been treated in such a way that during daylight, the streetscape is gently reflected in the stainless steel surface.
Trivia: the tapering upper portion of the Dublin Spire sways gently when the wind blows, infact, the tip can sway up to a maximum of 1.5 meters when it gets extremely windy!
