Tucked under the corner of North Earl Street and Marlborough street in Dublin, the Confession Box is an interesting pub that dazzlingly entertains the people who visit it. There is an interesting piece of history to this pub. Michael Collins who was an Irish leader in the War for Independence (1919-1921) and his mates received a friendly welcome and confession from priests of the nearby Catholic St Mary’s cathedral located near the pub after they were excommunicated. It is after that series of confessions that this pub has been named as “The Confession Box”. There is bar in the downstairs section of this pub and a cosy little upstairs with images of old Dublin on the walls. Do visit this church to experience the old world charm of Dublin as it has been preserved here well.
