  • It was great to be back in this old, Victorian Dublin pub again. Great to see that it hasn't changed, been done over, modernised ( TV apart). There is a new beer garden out the back which increases the capacity, and there are new lavatories ( tastefully modern, in the case of the gents, with rusted corrugated iron sheets dividing the cubicles. But to the important stuff: the pint of Guinness was the expected top class product. ( Pints of Guinness can vary: Toners has always been a great "Pint of Guinness" house.) The cheese sandwich with mustard ( I dine simply, traditional style) also hit the spot. I can't wait till I am next back in Dublin, for my next pint in Toners, a fine old establishment.

  • We recently booked a private function room upstairs here for a family party. The staff and management couldn't have been more helpful, from allowing access to decorate the room, to helping us estimate the number of (delicious ) food platters we needed for the numbers we had. The room has a sound system into which you can plug your music (laptop, phone, music player etc). Decent selection of drinks in the private bar. Toners is one of those rare Dublin pubs which has managed to maintain it's old school charm while providing a great 21st century service. Highly recommended.

  • Great spot but a bit too busy/congested for me on the night. Th rain may have had a part to play in that though:)
