Pile Gate - Review

This attraction can easily be considered as the gateway to Dubrovnik or deep-rooted, rich history. This is where you are dropped off at, in case you travel to city by a bus. Other than this fact, there is not much to this attraction, besides some intricate art work and structuring. This is also where most of the city tours commence, especially the Dubrovnik Old Town Walk. It is busy almost all through the day, so it is very unlikely for you to be the only person here.

Pile Gate, Dubrovnik Reviews

  • Very interesting place to visit. Lots of history and interesting architecture to look at. The city wall is a must climb. Takes about 1 to 1.5 hrs to complete the entire wall with stops for photo shoots. But if you have problems going up and down stairs, you can choose to do half the wall. The first half is a lot easier. Deco d half is quite tedious. Nice little cafes everywhere. Have a cup and enjoy the scene.

  • Just breathtaking!!! The architecture is magnificent outside and inside the old city. Would definitely recommend doing the walking tour of the walls. NOTE: you can not enter the old city unless you are “decently clothed”. Loosely meaning that shoulders must be covered (for any gender). p.s If you thought this review or the images were helpful then please do like it to show your support :)

  • The city center and the long wall of Dubrovnik starts from here. It looks more beautiful in the evening when lights are on. There are shops to buy souvenir of games of thrones and Dubrovnik. Being tourist place it is usually crowded during day and night. At the end of street there are stalls to rent a boat, kayak or whatever available with them. Also, note Dubrovnik would require at least 3-4 days to roam in and nearby places.

  • Beautiful old City, a lot of interesting history to dig into. This is a must see if you are nearby. Park in the other end of city, where cruise ships docks, 1€\hour. Take the bus to old city. Take cable car to mountain just before sunset, and get a beautiful picture.

  • Love Dubrovnik, the architecture is just wow, breathtaking, lots of fun stuff to do. It's overpriced in my humble opinion, hard to find a parking space close by that is affordable, the ones further away are still quite expensive. I guess if you take a bus tour it's okay because they drop you at one of the gates and you just walk in. Dubrovnik is definitely worth a trip, no matter the prices, it has a rich history and its extraordinary beautiful.
