Ushaka Marine World - Review
Everything you could possibly require of a water theme park, the uShaka marine world provides. Boasting the fifth largest marine aquarium in the world, the park also hosts a waterplay park, a beach and an African themed village. The aquarium is the main attraction. A large number of sharks, rays and other large fish draw people from everywhere. These are after all, the world’s finest predators. And yes, you can get up and close with the creatures; for an extra fee, you’ll be able to go snorkelling or diving in a shark cage. Make sure to watch the seal and dolphin shows. A dryer but no less dangerous exhibit is the Dangerous Creatures section, housing crocs, spiders, snakes and scorpions. The water-parks main attraction is Africa’s highest and most thrilling water slide. If, after a morning of touring, playing and eating you just want to walk around, the uShaka beach and the uShaka Village Walk make for lovely strolling grounds, taking you through cafes, an African themes area and a large pier heading out into the sea. Every area has it’s own dining option, but we recommend the cool them restaurants in the Sea World. You’ll easily spend an entire day here.

Ushaka Marine World, Durban Reviews
Entrance fee is high if you choose to enjoy the water park aswell as the aquarium, but definitely something you do not see everyday and there are a lot of mouths to feed. Fantastic layout and effort that was put into creating this aqua marine environment. Make sure you check on the feeding times of fish and the dolphin shows. Secure parking on the harbour's side(South of Marine World) The ship wreck provides nice views and experience to be on it.
Although a hefty entrance fee, ushaka marine world provided a fun filled adventure. One is able to see various sea creatures and projects. There are dolphin shows, seal shows and penguin shows at various times throughout the day. There is no price on the adventure and excitement that this place can provide. It is also wheelchair friendly which can easily provide a wholesome and joyous family event. The park also offers a water park which is great for hot days in Durban as well as caters for birthday parties etc.
Animals shows great family fun and teaching. And facilities are good and well serviced. Only issue is the food and beverage staff and quality. I get parks being strict on food and high than normal prices. But then at least have the decency to have efficient and polite service for the customers paying higher than normal pricing. Little to no common sense and effectiveness in this area
What I loved about this place is the Aquarium. So many variety of fish and sea creatures. It may be on the expensive side, but if you enjoy sea life, big and small, I highly recommend it. The staff there are helpful and friendly and share all sorts of interesting facts. Two thumbs up!
A must if you in Durban. On sunny days spend time in the waterpark. There is a great kids area too if you just want to relax for a bit before running around on the bigger slides. As a break or on poor weather days the aquarium is world class and you must see the dolphin show at very least. There is just so much to do I doubt could be done in a day.
