The Rukshamanee Mandir is deducted to Lord Krishna's wife Rukmani who was one of his 16,081 wives. Located on the banks of Bhagirathi River, the temple is designed with traditional motifs and layout. The deity of the temple is that of Goddess Rukmani who is depicted with four arms and hence called “Chaturbhuja”. The arms of the idol hold a conch shell, a Chakra (a circular weapon), a Gada (a blunt weapon with a spherical tip) and a Padma (lotus flower).
The shrine itself is fixed to the ground by a traditional spire and a pavilion that has a spherical dome. The exterior of the temple is decorated by carvings of elephants, human figurines and small ‘mandapas’ and arches that make this temple, not just a religious attraction but also an artistic marvel. There paintings on the wall of the temple date back to the 12th century and are a rare find for curious art lovers.

Holy place of historic importance if you go to dwarka must visit this temple
Nice old temple of Rukhmani Devi one of Queen of lord Krishna. It is very near to Dwarka.
The Rukmini Devi Temple is a temple in Dwarka which is 2 kilometres away from Dwarka, gujrat. India. It is dedicated to Rukmini devi, Krishna’s wife. The temple is said to be 2,500 years old. There is a story behind why the rukmani and krishna were not in the ssme temple. It is said that at the request of sage Durvasa (who was renowned for his short temper and bestowing curses) Krishna and Rukmini pulled a chariot taking sage Durvasa to their house for dinner. On the way, when Rukmini asked for water to quench her thirst, Krishna drew Ganges water, by prodding the ground with his toe, for her to drink. Rukmini quenched her thirst with the Ganges water. But Durvasa felt insulted as Rukmini did not have the courtesy to offer him water to drink. He, therefore, cursed her that she would live separately from her husband.
