Cooks' Cottage is the house of the famous British explorer, Captain James Cook. It was built by his parents, James and Grace Cook in 1755 in a small English village near North Yorkshire, England. In 1933, at an auction, the cottage was bought by Sir Russell Grimwade of Australia. He went on to transport the entire cottage, each brick numbered and then reconstructed in East Melbourne. All the interiors match the original design of the house, and a small English garden surrounds it, adding to the authentic look of the past era.
