Ben Nevis, Edinburgh Reviews
The parking at the visitor centre is £1 for an hour and £4 for a day. The centre also has toilet facilities what you can use at opening times. The walk to the peak is around 3-4 hours long for an average hiker with breaks what recommended. The 1/3 part of the path is relative easy comparing with the 2/3 towards the top.
A really tough walk but on the day I went up, the views were incredible as it was very clear. The best views I've ever had from any mountain I've been up in the UK. If you're fit enough then it's definitely worth the climb, you won't regret it!
My favourite mountain in the UK! Fantastic picturesque views. Beautiful. The Mountain Track (The Tourist Path) was very easy to follow. I never felt we would get lost. Terrain consists of paths and steps which were steep in places. The visitors centre had a large car park with a nice seating area consisting of picnic tables. The toilets were clean but do not open until 8.30am - not ideal if you want to set off early. Ben Nevis is definitely worth a visit. You don't need to be super fit but you do need to be able to walk for at least six hours.
Great hike. And a really nice challenge. Went up on a day with no clouds so you could see for miles. It was amazing. Around half way up just before the waterfall there is a lake a little of the path which Is a lovely place to stop and have a break.
We did the trail that starts at the visitor centre. The walk was fine, easy enough but a bit of a slog at points. It got fairly busy which took away some of the charm. Next time I'd probably try one of the other less transited routes.
