The Jolly Judge - Review

The first thing that you will love entering the convivial basement pub named Jolly Judge is its decorative low ceiling. The dreamy lights and the log fire also add to the charm of this place. The pub is located at the foot of a vennel and offers a tranquil ambience where you will love to sit back and enjoy the real ales, beers, wines and malt whiskey. Along with the drinks, you will be provided a fair amount of snacks to complement the sweet intoxication. Some of their Draught Beers include Belhaven Best, Guinness, Kronenbourg, Tennent’s Lager and so on. For Malt Whiskeys, you can try out Glenfiddich, Benromach and Lagavulin. The Jolly Judge, Edinburgh Reviews

  • Nice place, conveniently located in the tourist zone 😉 but is intimate and relatively quite in a nice little alley steps easy from the main road. I'm not sure about the process but I assume you can find more fairly priced places, about 4 quid a (precisely measured) whiskey shot, but never the less, we had a very nice time as the atmosphere is very nice. One staffer was very nice, the other was patient enough, both offered good and professional service. Bathrooms are upstairs, pretty nice, I would come back again for sure. Cheers

  • Great little pub that tucked away but very close proximity to the royal mile.Due to the cozy size and location can get busy.

  • Warm and cosy old school pub. No tv's or music blasting. Dog friendly 👍

  • Amazing collection of local cask ales and scotch. Kind, helpful and welcoming staff who explained the various types of each. There's no music so it's a great place to catch-up and chat. Goes without saying that it's right at the royal mile so ideal for a quick shelter from the rain and cold. I loved the low ceiling architecture and the general ambience in the pub.

  • Small back ally pub. Very small. Clean and tidy enough but not muc craic.
