The Hawrelak Park Rink within the park with the same name is located on the North Saskatchewan River valley. During summer months, the large artificial lake separated from the river is used for paddle boating while in winter when the lake surface is frozen, it is used as a large skating rink. Paddle boats in summer and ice skates in winter are offered for rental. The lake surface is large and hence no matter how many people gather to practice or watch other practising ice skating, the Hawrelak Park Rink never gets crowded. Many festivals are hosted on this rink, namely the Ice castle, Fise, Silver Skate Festival and many outdoor festivals apart from the regular bonfire nights.

I am a photographer and love using this beautiful ice rink. Great even during the warmer weather too. It's a nice place to watch the sunset. If you would like photos taken here my company is Zokah Photography and Video here in Edmonton.
Nice place we didn't skate we walked around the park instead
Great park. Always clean and well maintained. On summer the geese might be kinda annoying, but when you see them with their little ones, is great
Great little park in the middle of Edmonton. We went during the summer, but they have it set up for ice skating on the pond during the winter months.
Huge outdoor rink! Kept smooth. Great indoor facility for lacing up your skates, complete with nice washrooms. Wonderful ice path off of the rink to skate around on. Would go everyday if I could.
