Eindhoven would have remained just another town in the Netherlands if Gerard and Frederick Philips had not opened their factory here. When the main factory outgrew operations, it was converted into the Philips Museum. The permanent exhibition here provides you with the story of how the company started out and became an important manufacturing unit of the world. One of the most popular attraction of the museum is the Mission Eureka multimedia tour. It is a family game about the inventions made by Philips, from the lightbulb to LED and X-ray. Another collection in the museum is that of shavers. There are more than 80 shavers here, all developed by the brand. Check out ‘The Lamp’, a theatre show that explains how the incandescent lamps were made in the company. The Phillips Museum also serves as a venue for business meetings and events.

  • In August 2013, my dad and I went to visit this museum on the third day of our trip to the Netherlands. It was a really interesting museum. It's all about Philips, a major Dutch electronics company who are best known for making light bulbs, electric shavers and televisions. It has a great exhibition of Philips products are from the past and some are from the present as well. This is where Philips was founded in 1891 by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik. We are the visitors from Dublin, Ireland

  • I was not sure if it worths of €9, but finally it was good spending. I suggest the visit especially if you haven't any clue what Philips family brand really is. Amazing summary about the fact that Philips invented most of the things related to your everyday usage.

  • This is an interesting place for tech kids but adults could find some interesting things here too. I can't say that Eindhoven has a lot of tourist attractions but this place is definitely worth to visit.

  • Very nice museum. Nice view of the original light bulb factory. Tons of Philips' history.

  • Very cool museum with many interesting everyday objects and interactive games. Took us around 2 hours including coffee in the lovely museum cafe.
